Asterisk Distributions
Asterisk itself is a development platform – delivered in source code and without interface. So most companies won’t want to invest the time to compile it, troubleshoot it and develop an interface. It really only makes sense for PBX or Hosting companies. Therefore there have been a number of companies that have developed an “Asterisk Distribution” – a ready to run ISO image which installs the OS, Asterisk and an interface for you to manage.
- Elastix – Debian Linux Asterisk Distribution (FREE)
- PBXinaflash – Linux PBX (FREE)
- FreePBX – Based on CENTOS – most module require payment
